The new visitor has now arrived! Yes, it’s a new puppy! Before you get excited about how much fun you are going to have, you should first know that the puppy should be trained. The puppy will grow day by day, to be an adult dog, and then training would be much harder. It is just like a child. You should start training the puppy from the young age. The basic concept is house training, being able to obey all the things and rules in the house. He should learn to respect you. Some basic things he should pick up in the early stages are the following; sit, stay, come, go, leashing. If your dog does not know what these are, then there is a problem. It is very essential to be able to understand these words and obey them accordingly. You should reward your puppy, when he does something right, this is one technique which always works in Puppy Training. He should be praised on every good movement. If there is negative affection towards him, he will begin to hate and sometimes, will be scared to see people. You should have hand gestures along with the verbal words, this way he has a visual picture of how it looks. The treats which you give him should be things which he likes. When you believe your dog has learned the words and signals, you can start using only one of the commands. Using both at different times, will really help enhance the dog’s skills.
Some other things to teach your puppy should be to sit down, go, come, lie down and lastly leash training. Your vet will advise you to teach him behavior training if it is needed. In order for your dog to be a well-behaved dog, he should be taught well, with patience. The teaching process will create a closer relation between you and the puppy, which is great! Some games you can play with your puppy in order to practice some commands, are fetch and hide and seek.
