We all know how important it is to take of the infants. Their demands are entirely different from that of the grown ups and their learning capability is enhanced at that stage. They are also vulnerable to hosts of diseases and that they should be proper vaccinated from all sorts of diseases. Now animal infants are not much different than us. They are vulnerable to diseases and sometimes there is the source of threat. Hence it becomes imperative that we take appropriate care of them when they are young.

Let’s start with puppies. Puppies should be given timely food and it should be rich in protein because it helps in growth. Immunizations, worming and vaccination have to be done so that they don’t contract any disease. Frequent check ups are needed to make sure everything is going fine. And the most important thing is that they should be taught early in life. Since they are young and have an impressionable mind, they learn quickly and retain most part of it.

In case of guinea pigs newborn extensive care has to be taken as you cannot come in contact with the newborn. Because if you do you will leave your smell on the new born and in that case they are abandoned by their mother. Care must be taken that they do not get strangulated in the bars of the cage while attempting to get out. For this we need to put cardboard cover from the ground level to around 1 feet for the first two three months. Also their weights have to be monitored regularly because that will give an indication whether they are getting proper food or not. If not then they should be left alone with mother for some time.

It’s much more difficult to bring a pet from infancy to adult but when you accomplish that, the bond that develops is unique and satisfying.
