If you are a proud owner of a rabbit then I probably don’t need to tell you that rabbits are one of the best pet. The reasons are manifold. Foremost among them is the choice you get. You can select from 45 different breeds of rabbits recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA). You can get small rabbit, large rabbit or rabbit with lot of fur. They come in a variety of colors too. One or the other color will certainly appeal to your tastes! Good things are not over yet. Rabbits are quiet and so there is no chance you will be disturbed by the noise.
But whichever rabbit you pick you will have to take certain precautions to make sure that the pet remains hale and hearty.
Rabbits can live both indoors and outdoors but if you are caring for your rabbits outdoors, you need to provide them with ample shelter and also make sure that they are protected from predators. These also include the neighborhood dogs and cats.
Besides the predators, rabbits also need to be protected from the elements and should have plenty of ventilation. During hot weather you have to take some particular measures to keep them safe as they are more vulnerable to hot weather than to cold weather. Rabbits can stay indoors too and in that case you will have to make a new home for it. However rabbits are clean pet and as such there would be no problem even if they indoors. Though care must be taken that rabbits don’t chew up your electrical wires because rabbits like to chew and the wires are lethal.
It sounds like that its so much to take care of but if you have a rabbit then I probably don’t need to tell you that you will love their company. It may well turn out to be one of your best experiences.
